Marketing that holds up, operations that keep up

Goldentell works only with expert witnesses. Two things about this profession set it apart from any other clients we might serve:

All marketing is discoverable

A website claim, a directory listing, or even a LinkedIn post from years ago can be printed, marked as an exhibit, and read back to the expert under oath. Wording that would be normal for a consultancy or clinic can, for a testifying expert, become the start of a cross-examination.

The work is billed by the hour

Every hour spent on something else has a cost. Tasks like chasing unpaid invoices, putting together retainer packets, or updating a paralegal on a quiet matter are not billable, but they still need to be done, and most of them fall to the expert. Often, this means a practice turns down work it could handle, simply because there is no time left to take it on.

Let’s make sure your practice is protected, professional and ready for what’s next.

Our mission

To help expert witnesses build credible, well-run practices without creating unnecessary risk or taking time away from billable work.

We provide marketing and operational support designed specifically around the realities of expert witness work, from maintaining a factual, defensible professional presence to creating systems that reduce the administrative burden behind every case.

Our vision

To raise the standard of how expert witness practices are marketed and managed.

We want expert witnesses to be able to grow their practices without relying on promotional marketing that can undermine credibility, and without spending valuable professional time on work that can be handled more efficiently behind the scenes.

Maria Covlea, Founder

The founder

Goldentell started from working inside an expert witness practice.

Maria spent much of her career in UK public-sector organizations, where anything published could be reviewed by the public or regulators, or accessed through freedom of information requests. Working in that environment teaches you to review your own drafts for anything someone might challenge, and to fix it before they do. She holds a BA in Business and Marketing and has worked with organizations in both the United Kingdom and the United States.

First handling marketing, then taking on almost everything else: intake, retention materials, case follow-up, systems, and files.

Where the name comes from

The name

Goldentell is about the value of telling something clearly and well.

Expertise does not speak for itself. Attorneys looking for an expert read quickly, compare candidates, and make decisions based on just a few paragraphs. If you use the right words in the right places, your career becomes clear to those who need your help. The skill is in the wording, and in this profession, that is also where the risk lies.

What happens after the wording matters just as much. If an attorney finds the right expert but has to wait three days for a reply, they have probably already started looking for someone else.

What we hold ourselves to

Our standards

  • We never make claims you would not want read out loud

There are no guaranteed outcomes, no promised rankings, no win rates, and no language that suggests an opinion is for sale.

  • Nothing is published without your approval

Every public word is checked by a person and then approved by you before it goes out. You will never be surprised by something in your own name.

  • Nothing is left waiting or ignored

Deadlines and commitments are tracked in writing, followed up before they are due, and brought to your attention early if there is a risk. Attorneys and their paralegals hear from us about a matter before they need to ask.

  • You have one main point of contact

The person who knows your practice is the one you speak to, and you receive a written report every week with updates on inquiries, their status, matters in progress, upcoming deadlines, and outstanding invoices.

  • We keep only the minimum information needed

Access is limited to what each task requires, granted carefully and removed when the work is finished.
